New Media Manitoba

I recently attended a social networking seminar hosted by New Media Manitoba and led by Lloyd Hannesson, a local Winnipeg gaming blogger and podcast host.

The first event wa a sellout, so a second date was added which also sold out. Lloyd had a lot of great tips for both social media newcomers and experts alike, and he did a great job of keeping everyone entertained and engaged throughout the morning.

They are looking at running the event again this summer, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to incorporate social networking services like Twitter or Facebook into their business, or just wondering what they are all about!

Just wanted to take a quick second to plug a presentation I am doing at the March meeting of New Media Manitoba on March 18th.

This presentation will be a couple of hours of light-hearted Drupal fun! I will be giving a brief over-view of the Drupal CMS framework, a run-down of what went on at DrupalCon 2008 in Boston last week, as well as leading some demos and question and answer session.

This is also hopefully the kick-off of the "Drupal Order of Winnipeg" user group. I have been searching around for a year and a half for other Drupal users, and hopefully I will find some at this event.

So come out and learn about Drupal and lets have some fun!
